March has been Madness for Cardinals

As I sat down this year and did my usual bracket for this years NCAA bracket, I felt fairly confident based on my extreme knowledge (lol) and all the games I had watched this year, and I watched a ton, just ask my poor wife. I really believed I had some great picks in place. Now I must admit and I'm sure a lot of hardcore fans can understand that it is hard sometimes not to follow your heart when your favorite team is in the big dance. So as hard as it was for me to pencil in Kansas over my beloved University of Louisville Cardinals, I followed the smart choice and chose.......Kansas.   So I think most of us know how that turned out, the Cardinals couldn't get past in state school Morehead State, wow how did I miss that one, I mean I didn't follow my heart right.....well maybe I did. On the Sunday the brackets came out my wife and I along with our four children spent the day at the beach enjoying the sand and the waves, though I made sure I set the dvr on CBS not to miss a thing.

When I saw we had been matched with Morehead State I immediately became concerned, this was one of the nations top rebounding teams, along with one of the nations top rated rebounders, our one glaring weakness all year had been rebounding...great. Something in my mind screamed oh no and my brain reflected on seeing Morehead State play in their conference championship, like I stated earlier I watched alot of basketball, I knew they were solid.

When your team loses in the first round it is hard to stayed interested well at least for me it is, now to makes things even worse our bitter rival Kentucky has made it to the final four, and for those of you that don't know in the state of Kentucky you either bleed blue or red there is no in between, and now I get to listen to all my Facebook UK fans talk smack about their team and how funny they think it is we lost in the first round.

So lastly to make things worse out of the four teams in the final four the Cardinals had three wins against them, yes I know hard to believe but true. They beat UCONN twice and was close to beating them three times in a close loss in the Big East championship game, and the third win came against Butler, in a game that was never close the Cardinals really put it to a 18th ranked Butler at the time, it was the opening game in the new KFC yum center arena.  So hopefully the Wildcats won't win this tournament and seeing them lose to a Big East school would give me some enjoyment and hopefully UConn will win it all and I can say hey.......at least we beat the national champs twice......lol.
